Our Social Evening on the First Monday in December was very well attended and from the feedback we received it was an evening that appealed to the majority of the people and was also an opportunity to sit and chat and enjoy the supper provided.

At our Board Meeting on 7th December we confirmed the majority of our dates for 2017:

Sunday 15^th January 2017
Our first event in 2017 will be a post-Christmas social run, starting at the Spawell Complex Car Park between 10.30 and 11.00am, following a specified route to arrive at Mondello Circuit and after spending some time there, travel onwards to Killashee Hotel for lunch. The cost of this event will be €20 per person and because of the need to give numbers attending, to both Mondello and the hotel, we ask all members who are able to join the run on the 15th to email [email protected] or call 087-2220770 to confirm attendance by Wednesday 11th January. We will send out a reminder early in the New Year and we hope that many members will join the Run – As always this is dependent on weather!!

First Mondays 2017
Please note there are some changes to our First Monday dates for 2017. The following are the First Monday meetings dates for the West County Hotel, Chapelizod, commencing with the First Monday meeting of 2017 being Monday 6th February.

6th February, 6th March, 8th May, 2nd October, 6th November and 4th December

We will arrange a social run on the First Mondays in July and August and details will be available on these outings nearer the time. Please note: There will be no First Monday meetings in January, April, June and September.

Annual General Meeting
Sunday 9th April at 3pm. We plan a new venue for our 2017 AGM and will advise of the location early in 2017.

Spring event for 1930’s cars
We plan to cater for an event specifically for this era of car on 6th-7th May and have reserved accommodation in Kilkenny. Early entry is recommended as we are limited to 50 hotel bedrooms for this event.

Sunday, 14th May 2017 – IVVCC Festival of Transport in Punchestown Racecourse
Plans are well in hand for this special 2017 event which will appeal to all members, affiliate clubs and a wider transport interests. Full details will be available in January.

9th-11th June – IVVCC International Gordon Bennett Rally
This event is being held on 9th-11th June and is based in Mount Wolseley Hotel, Tullow. The entry form will be available in early January and once an entry has been received, any entrant who requires hotel accommodation for the event will be issued with an individual code so that an hotel booking may be made at that point.

Sunday 2nd July – Irish Classic & Vintage Motor Show, Terenure
The IVVCC will, once again, be attending this show and the IJDC will issue information about the event in due course.

Sunday, 20th August – IVVCC Powerscourt 40th Anniversary Picnic Event
Once again, with sincere thanks to the management in Powerscourt, we will hold this event in the enclosed wall gardens. This was a very popular setting in 2016 and we would anticipate that we will be able to accommodate the first 150 entries received from our members and affiliate members.

September 7th-10th September – North Wales
We are planning an IVVCC visit to North Wales, leaving Dublin on Thursday 7th and returning Sunday 10th September and visiting many scenic houses, gardens and travelling scenic routes over the period. Full details will be available early in the New Year. A number of people have already expressed their interest and as we will be limited by ferry space and accommodation there will be an upper limit on cars travelling. Anyone who feels that they would like to take part, if they have not already advised, should email their interest to [email protected]

September 30th-October 1st – IVVCC Brass Brigade Run
This Brass Brigade Run will take place again in Dungarvan, Co Waterford, and the Park Hotel will be our base for the event.  We were very pleased with the large entry received in 2016 and due to the enthusiastic feedback received following the 2016 event we look forward to an increased entry in 2017.

October 6th-7th – IVVCC Classic Car Run
We are planning a two day event specifically for Classic Cars and full details will be available early in the New Year.

November – NEC Classic Car Show – Birmingham
The IVVCC stand at the NEC Classic Car Show last November was well received and there were many visitors to the stand over the period of the show.  We are planning to attend this show in 2017 and full details will be available nearer the event.  We would like to thank our members who gave their time to man the stand during the course of the show.  We do need quite a number of members who attend the show to sign up to give an hour or so to manning the stand in 2017 and we will have more information on this in due course.
