The IVVCC is pleased to announce details of the 9th Brass Brigade Run for veteran car owners with historic cars pre-1919. We are very pleased that Kevin Herron has agreed, once again, to be Clerk of the Course for our 2023 event. This year the event is being run in partnership with one of our affiliated clubs, the Kingdom Veteran, Vintage & Classic Car Club.
The rally will be held on Saturday 15th July and will be based at the very popular Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Tralee, Co. Kerry.
The event is being held on this date to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the Ballyfinane Hill Climb which, along with the Gordon Bennett Cup Race, was part of the Automobile Fortnight of 1903. The original event was also held on July 15th and was won by Charles Rolls, later of Rolls-Royce fame, driving an 80hp Mors.
The entry fee will be €115 per person based on two people sharing and again will be limited to the first 50 entries received.
The run will start on Saturday morning from the Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Ballyroe, Tralee, Co. Kerry, V92 HT91 at 11:30am. It will take in some of the most dramatic scenery that Co. Kerry has to offer and the overall route will be no longer than 60 miles. The original hill in Ballyfinane, used in 1903, will form part of the route and will include a coffee stop along the way.
We will return to the Ballyroe Heights for dinner on the evening of the 15th. After a decent night’s sleep and breakfast on Sunday morning, all entrants will make their way home.
EARLY REGISTRATION IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED AS THERE IS A LIMITED NUMBER OF ROOMS AVAILABLE IN OUR ALLOCATION.
IMPORTANT: This Run is a pre-registration event and it will not be possible to enter on the day.
THE START: Registration is open on Saturday morning from 9.30am to 11.00am.
THE CLASSES: Only Veteran Cars (pre-1919 are eligible to enter).
