Advantages of IVVCC Membership
The Irish Veteran and Vintage Car Club CLG was formed in 1963 to cater for owners and non-owner enthusiasts of Veteran and Vintage Motor Vehicles. Vehicles catered for by the club come under the following headings:-
ANTIQUE: Pre-1905
VETERAN: 1905 – 1918
VINTAGE: 1918 – 1930
POST-VINTAGE: 1931 – 1945.
CLASSIC: 1946 – 1983 in year 2008
(in accordance with FIVA Article 1.2 of its Technical Code).
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the club are as described in our mission statement. The club organises rallies, fun runs, monthly meetings and outings – as well as publishing a quarterly journal giving club news, details of vehicles for sale, information on vehicle restoration and including articles of general interest. Various club sections run events especially suited to their own interests and classes are usually included in club rallies for these sections. The club also has a website www.ivvcc.ie. The IVVCC is the Irish representative for FIVA www.fiva.org
MEMBERSHIP
Membership is open to any person owning or interested in motor vehicles within the various classes described above. Application for membership should be made to the membership secretary on the form available from the Membership Secretary and also by download from the club website www.ivvcc.ie. All subscriptions are due for renewal on January 1st in each year but those who join after October 1st will be covered for the following year. The yearly subscription covers the club quarterly journal which is posted to members.
MONTHLY MEETINGS
The club’s monthly meetings are held on the first Monday of each month (second Monday if the first one falls on a public holiday). The current venue for monthly meetings is West County Hotel, Chapelizod. Meetings start at 8pm and the presentations commence at 8.30pm. These presentations range from talks, film shows, slide shows, marketing nights, etc., and also provide an opportunity to exchange information and general social contacts between members.
CONSTITUTION
The club is a company limited by guarantee and is governed by company law (a copy of the constitution and bye-laws are available on request from the Hon. Secretary).
The President and Board of Directors meet up to 8 times a year and all matters pertaining to the running of the club are decided at these meetings. Sub-Committees are given responsibilities by the Board. Any member may be on a subcommittee provided his/her subscription is up-to- date and he/she has been approved by the Board.
