We are delighted to announce details of the IVVCC 60th Anniversary Event, which will be based at the 4* Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone, as it was in 1964.

We welcome owners of cars that have been on the first IVVCC Run to Athlone 60 years ago and Brass Brigade cars registered up to 31st December 1918 to participate in this historic event, in addition to members and affiliate club members’ cars up to 1994. We also welcome our Youngtimers up to 2004.

We welcome entrants who will arrive in the Hodson Bay on Friday, 30th August where we will have an opportunity to socialise with other entrants as they check in for the evening.

The rally will commence with Registration on Saturday morning from 08.30am to 09.30am, followed by a short briefing, with the first car away at 10.00am. There will be two routes, one for the Brass Cars and the second route for all other vehicles. All cars will meet at Strokestown House where lunch will be provided, followed by tours of the house, gardens and museum included in our visit. All cars will leave Strokestown House on the same route, returning to the Hodson Bay, with another visit to an attraction on the way back to the hotel.

On Saturday night we will have a Drinks Reception at 19.30pm, followed by our Gala Dinner at 20.00pm. As part of this Gala evening we plan to interview people who took part in the first event in 1964 and will have some interesting memorabilia and visual items from earlier years.

CAR ENTRY FEE: €80 per car – to include entry fee per car, plus route information, car number plate, lunch at Strokestown House followed by tour of house, gardens and museum for two people.

A special commemorative plaque will be presented to all entrants.

On this commemorative occasion any car that participated in the 1964 event will have free entry for the 2024 60th Anniversary event. Gala Dinner tickets will be €50 per person on Saturday night.

We have negotiated rates for accommodation with the Hodson Bay Hotel and anyone wishing to reserve accommodation must contact the hotel Reservations Dept on Ph: +353-906-442004 and quote Irish Veteran & Vintage Car Club (not IVVCC) to reserve accommodation at our agreed rates.
